Bells Hotel is located at 157 Moray Street, South Melbourne VIC 3205, just minutes from the Melbourne CBD, Albert Park and the South Melbourne Market precinct. We're easily accessible by tram and have street parking and nearby paid parking available.

Bells Hotel is one of Melbourne's most iconic hospitality venues, a South Melbourne pub combining a traditional atmosphere with modern dining, live sport, entertainment and nine premium event spaces. Whether you're after a casual counter meal, a cold drink with mates or a large-scale function, Bells Hotel has you covered, seven days a week.

Bells Hotel is open every day, 10am to 4am.

Our kitchen is open seven days a week, 11:30am to 9pm.
We also offer an Express Lunch Menu Monday to Friday, 11:30am to 3pm.

Yes. Bells Hotel is South Melbourne's home of live sport, screening major AFL, NRL, NBA, horse racing, rugby union, cricket, soccer and international sporting events across multiple screens throughout the venue.

Yes. Several areas of Bells Hotel are accessible at ground level. We also have lift access to the rooftop and Main Hall, making the venue accessible across multiple levels.

Yes. Street parking is available on Moray Street and surrounding streets, please check local signage for time limits. Nearby paid parking options are also available in the South Melbourne area.

Yes! Well-behaved dogs are welcome in our selected outdoor areas. Please let our team know in advance if you'd like to bring your dog along.

Bookings FAQ

Walk-ins are always welcome. That said, bookings for dining are recommended during busy periods, particularly on weekends and for our popular weekly specials nights. Bookings can be made online through the Bells Hotel website or by contacting the venue directly.

Standard dining bookings are generally allocated approximately two hours. If you require additional time, please contact our team and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

Yes. For groups of 10–30 guests looking for a more casual bar experience, we can reserve a dedicated area with a combination of seating and standing room, subject to availability.

We recommend enquiring as early as possible, particularly for weekend dates, peak seasons (November through January) and our larger spaces, which book out quickly. Inquiring 3–6 months in advance is ideal for significant events, though we'll do our best to accommodate shorter lead times where availability permits.

Yes. Many of our spaces can be decorated and personalised to suit your theme. Please discuss your plans with our events team ahead of the event so we can advise on what's permitted, arrange setup access and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.

No. All catering must be supplied by Bells Hotel. Outside catering is not permitted, with the exception of celebration cakes. Our function menus cover a wide range of styles and budgets, so there's plenty to choose from.
Functions Bookings & Payments FAQ

Yes. A deposit is required to confirm your booking and secure your preferred date and space. Our events team will provide full details on deposit amounts and payment terms when confirming your event.

Final guest numbers are required two weeks prior to your event. Please keep our events team updated as your event approaches so we can ensure everything is prepared for your group.

Adjustments to guest numbers can be made before the final confirmation deadline, two weeks prior to your event. Please contact our events team as early as possible if your numbers change significantly.
